About ESP Clinics

At ESPClinics, we believe that complex joints require specialized eyes. While the provincial healthcare system has evolved to provide rapid access for hip, knee, and spine concerns, patients with shoulder and elbow pathologies often find themselves in a “diagnostic gap”—waiting months for answers or cycling through treatments that don’t address the root cause. We founded ESPClinics to bridge that gap.

Our Vision: The Sixth Sense of Care

Our name reflects our identity: Extended Scope Practitioners (ESPs). In the medical world, this denotes senior clinicians with advanced training in orthopedic triage. However, we also embrace the second meaning of ESP: a “sixth sense” for musculoskeletal health.

By specializing exclusively in the Shoulder and Elbow, we have developed a deep, intuitive insight into these complex joints. We look beyond the results of a standard scan to understand the mechanical and functional drivers of your pain, providing clarity where others see complexity.

The Interdisciplinary Model

Our clinic operates on a unique model of care that integrates three distinct pillars of expertise:

  • Advanced ESP Assessment:

Every journey begins with a high-level diagnostic screen. Our ESPs possess the expertise to determine surgical candidacy and identify “hidden” pathologies like subcoracoid bursitis or rotator interval sprains.

  • Surgical Collaboration:

We work in a direct, interdisciplinary partnership with leading Orthopaedic Surgeons. This synergy ensures that surgical candidates are fast-tracked, while non-surgical patients receive a definitive, evidence-based roadmap.

  • Educational Empowerment:

We don’t just treat; we teach. Our model is built on the belief that a patient who understands their anatomy is a patient who recovers faster.

Our Orthopaedic Surgeons

Our Extended Scope Practitioners (ESPs) / Advanced Clinician Practitioners (ACPs)

Our ESPs are the heartbeat of the clinic. With years of advanced training in shoulder and elbow triage, they serve as your primary diagnostic guides. They are the practitioners who apply the “sixth sense” to every physical exam, ensuring your care path is accurate from day one.
